care as portals to a softer world

By Jasmine Godinez-Gomez

When I think about my work, I think about legacy & longevity. I want to support and share offerings that allow others to stand in their softness and live in the beauty of their lives. Whatever that may look like for them. That is not to say we all won’t struggle. It is inevitable. But the care we are given through our struggles truly matters. We are often taught that having & raising children is meant to be a struggle. & may have heard ridiculous saying like, “ we are born & die alone”. I don’t believe this to be true. Although sometimes we truly do not have the support systems that are meant to lift us up during these sacred times in our lives. We are meant to have community and tools that gently hold & guide us through the tender portals in our lives. Those that make us feel safe, seen, heard, & valued.

I do think doula work is a calling. It takes those who continually see a vision that is bigger than just us. Something that expands and shifts and changes but the goal remains the same. May our journeys into birth, life, & death serve as tender portals to softer worlds. I want a softer world for all of us. & in this world I’ll be adorned in pearls. 🪞🫶🏼🕯️🕊️🐚🦪
